Pending Home Sales Report - April 2024

In April 2024, the housing market experienced mixed trends across different regions in the United States. The overall pending home sales index stood at 72.3, indicating a subdued level of activity in recent years. The West region saw the lowest index at 55.9, and a month-over-month (MoM) increase of 8.5%. Meanwhile, the Midwest had an index of 70.7 with a MoM increase of 9.5%. The Northeast had an index of 62.9, showing a more modest MoM increase of 3.5%. In contrast, the South region boasted the highest index of 88.6, coupled with a MoM increase of 7.6%, suggesting relatively healthier housing market dynamics in that area compared to other regions.
