sian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) Month

Celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage

This May, we recognize and celebrate the cultures, contributions, and lasting impact of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.

Heritage Month is a time to reflect, honor, and recognize both progress and ongoing challenges. The 2026 theme, “Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together,” highlights how AANHPI individuals and professionals are building connections, sharing their stories, and strengthening communities.

Homeownership remains a key part of that future. While AANHPI communities have made meaningful progress, gaps in access and equity still exist across the broader housing landscape. As real estate professionals, we have a role in helping bridge those gaps by providing guidance, education, and access to opportunity for all.

The Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) has partnered with the Urban Institute to deploy a national study concerning homeownership and wealth creation in the AANHPI community. The results provide valuable insights into how AANHPI households build, sustain, and transfer wealth through homeownership.

By engaging participants in exercises to build new habits of equitable behavior, “Bias Override” helps REALTORS® overcome barriers to working with clients of diverse backgrounds and avoid fair housing pitfalls.

Completion of this course satisfies NAR's Fair Housing training requirement. All REALTORS® are required to complete Fair Housing training every 3 years along with Code of Ethics training. You must attend the course in its entirety to receive credit for completion. No CE credit is provided.
