In Memoriam: Len Herman (1957-2026)
Members of our community and Association lost a pillar of real estate, Len Herman, on March 5th. Orange County REALTORS® hope we can collectively celebrate the remarkable impact he had on so many people throughout our profession.
For more than two decades, Len was a respected colleague, advisor, and leader whose guidance and perspective influenced many within our association. He built lasting relationships with fellow REALTORS® and professionals across Orange County, always offering thoughtful insight, encouragement, and a steady voice of experience.
Len also shared a meaningful professional journey with several colleagues who served in leadership roles within the Orange County Association of REALTORS®. Len served as President of the Association in 2013. He served for 20 years on the OCR MLS committee and even was instrumental in the merger of SoCalMLS into the MLS we all know today, as CRMLS. Along with many other dedicated leaders and volunteers, he worked to strengthen the organization, support its members, and advance the professionalism and integrity of the real estate industry.
Throughout his career, Len generously shared his knowledge and experience. He helped guide colleagues through the challenges and opportunities facing the association and the industry, always emphasizing collaboration, mentorship, and service to others. Every association member that met Len seemed to walk away better for the interaction.
Len’s leadership was characterized by vision, fairness, humility, and a deep commitment to the REALTOR® community. His influence extended well beyond formal leadership roles. Whether offering guidance to new leaders, participating in association initiatives, or simply sharing conversation with colleagues, he had a unique ability to make people feel heard, respected, and valued.
Even while facing significant health challenges later in life, Len demonstrated remarkable courage, grace, and resilience. His positive outlook and continued concern for others served as an inspiration to those around him.
Len’s legacy lives on through the many individuals he mentored, the friendships he built, and the contributions he made to our profession and our association. His commitment to leadership, service, and integrity will continue to influence our community for years to come.
We extend our deepest condolences to Len’s family, friends, and colleagues. He will be remembered with gratitude and respect by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
