The CRMLS Year in Review: 2025

The CRMLS Year in Review: 2025

Well, what a year. 2025 was full of turbulence and shake-ups, but it was also filled with opportunities to become even greater real estate professionals. Before we head further into the holiday mindset, here’s our recap of CRMLS’s biggest stories.

Value Redefined and the Value of Representation
CRMLS’s major initiatives this year were all about helping agents showcase just how much value they bring. To start it off with Value Redefined, we looked inward, reasserted our core values, and prioritized ways we can help agents navigate the current market. Following that, the Value of Representation was about providing materials for agents and brokers to help communicate all the important work they do to clients and potential clients.

The January Wildfires
Fires across SoCal were perhaps the biggest story of the year, and CRMLS acted fast to respond. We compiled a list of resources  and started working with Property Guardian InsurAble to help with the increasing concern around fire insurance and RentSpree to waive all application fees for an extended period of time. In addition, a new listing status called “Disaster Relief Rental” was created to designate emergency, temporary rentals. May all those affected by the tragic wildfires be well on their road to recovery.

New Reciprocal Data Access
February saw CRMLS Matrix users gain reciprocal data access (sort of like a guest access) with Washington and Oregon’s Northwest MLS (NWMLS) and Western Arizona REALTOR® Data Exchange, Inc. (WARDEX), which covers areas around the California/Arizona/Nevada borders. Later in July, we added Stellar MLS, the largest MLS in Florida. This move further expands our reach by creating a data-sharing network between the three largest MLSs in the nation: CRMLS, Bright MLS, and Stellar MLSRead more about it in our press release.

CRMLS Responds to New NAR Policy
After careful consideration, CRMLS opted not to adopt NAR’s new Multiple Listing Options for Sellers policy. Instead, we will use the tools already at our disposal to meet the aims of the policy without new listing statuses, etc. Read more about CRMLS’s decision.

The Importance of Transparency
CEO Art Carter and VP & General Counsel Ed Zorn sat down to discuss the noise surrounding “seller choice” and why maintaining market transparency is key to a successful industry. Check out the full video here.

Updates to CDAM Records: 90 Days to 30 Days

CRMLS has reduced the Cumulative Days Active in MLS (CDAM) window for listings to reset from 90 days to 30 days. This change reflects our ability to analyze markets in less time. No action is required of you, but click here for a full explanation of how CDAM is calculated.

Whew. That was a lot. And we didn’t even get into how busy we were with our day-to-day business, including more than 40 events, 500 webinars, and… whoa… 80,000 customer support tickets. All of that is just a portion of how we help support our wonderful brokerage community. But to wrap things up (because we know you’ve got some eggnog in the fridge with your name on it), thank you to each and every professional who trusts CRMLS to offer the finest MLS experience. We do it all for you and always appreciate your role as a real estate professional.

Now get some vacation time and R&R, because 2026 doesn’t look like it’s going to be any slower.
